End suction Centrifugal pump is a type of centrifugal pump where the suction is axial and the discharge is at 90 degrees to comply with worldwide or regional standards. An end suction centrifugal pump can be long coupled (separate pump and motor) or close coupled (where the motor is in the same unit as the pump) often referred to as a monobloc.
An end suction pump is the most common type of pump worldwide. Its construction is relatively simple, as is the operation. The end suction centrifugal pump can range from small flows and pressures to huge flows, moderate pressure. The most commonly used materials are cast iron, bronze and stainless steel. End suction pumps are usually designed as a back pull out design which facilitates maintenance without disturbing the alignment. End suction centrifugal pumps save on space and eliminate the need for motor alignment.
